    Poster, Southern Railway, Southern Electric, New Extensions, by John Chater, 1937. Features a drawing depicting four members of a permanent way gang lowering a rail into position, with a signal gantry in the background. Below are details of the electrification programme planned for July 1937 to 1940, including work on the London to Portsmouth lines via Guildford and Horsham, lines to Staines, Reading, Ascot to Aldershot & Guildford, Sevenoaks to Hastings and Bexhilland, and lines to Kent. In the event the Southern Railway's electrification scheme was delayed by the Second World War. Format: double royal. Dimensions: 40 x 25 inches, 1016 x 635mm.
